The normal reading of the Weichai generator oil temperature gauge should be between 180° (82°C) and 225°f (107°C). Under full load, do not panic when the oil temperature of Weichai generator reaches 240°f (116°C) for a short time.
Note: If the sudden increase of the oil temperature of Weichai generator is not caused by the increase of load, it indicates that there is a possibility of mechanical failure and should be checked immediately.
During warm-up periods, the load should be gradually increased until the oil temperature reaches 140°f (60°C). When the oil is still cold, it doesn't lubricate very well. Continuous or prolonged idling at oil temperatures below 140°f (60°C) will cause oil dilution and acidity in the crankcase to accelerate engine wear.
